Should you buy a new house or an old house?

For 25 years in real estate business, I was frequently asked the same question:?Whether to buy a new house or an old one??To me, there are always pros and cons. Buying an old house in an established township will definitely cost more than expected. Of course you will also get better landscaping, matured garden and courtyard, more space, hand-carved staircases and unique architecture frame work. On the other hand, old houses can bring more headaches. For instance, you may need to engage a specialist to have the termite inspection, new plumbing, new wiring, new paint, carpet, and the bill goes on. If you buy a new house, your initial investment capital will cost you more for the same built-up, but you are getting the most modern and most up-to-date finishes. Since it is a new area, it may be situated far from the place you work. You may have to pay toll fees to get into the city center.

In today? hectic society, especially snatch thieves who are at every corner, many people prefer smaller lots with smaller court yards as most people are not keen to do gardening.?Some people prefer to stay in gated communities. So to buy a new house or an old one depends on each individual. Each family has different requirements. I suggest you get a house that suits your requirements; not too far from work, accessible to anywhere you like, with good infrastructures, and amenities. Most importantly, a house that is financially affordable to you.
